See this TripWow and more at tripwow.tripadvisor.com Jungle Tour "I have to be honest, I wasn't really looking forward to the jungle tour because of the mosquito's and other insects but hey, after months of traveling, I'm pretty much up for anything! Ha! Jungle Tour - Day 1: After a 2 hour river boat ride on the river Beni (what I would call a real river with currents flowing) we arrived at camp. The tour office had said that the accommodation would be far more basic on the jungle tour than the pampas tourbut how wrong could they be! When I walked into the camp I was amazed. Lovely surroundings with palm trees and jungle all around; large logs used to make walkways and lovely wooden cabins for the common room, kitchen and dorms. The sun was beaming down and everything looked lush and green, with thesound of the river in the background. Exploring the grounds before lunch, I found a resident tropical spider - black and yellow in colour with long legs - basking in the sunshine in its web near a tree stump, and lots of little ant hill dotted around. Apparently there are very few mosquito's in thejungle, so we were told NOT to put repellent on before our afternoon jungle trek as the repellent would deter the animals. The guide said to just put on long pants and a long sleeved top and we'd be fine .... he lied!!! But then again, it wouldn't be a jungle without mossies and...
